I teach, therefore I am.
At ResearchEd Rugby and ResearchEd York this year, I presented on curriculum and assessment design. In the sessions I explored the idea of the missing expertise in curriculum and assessment with a particular nod to the fears around subject knowledge in the face of more challenging curriculum (the ‘Of Mice and Men’ furore being an example of this) and to the anti-academic culture in our society which needs to be tackled.
Some of the attendees asked if I could post the slides online (see below). Further detail, including curriculum maps and training plans, can be found in my book: ‘Bloomsbury CPD Library: Secondary Curriculum and Assessment Design’ which is now available to order.
